Praised for the soothing timbre of her voice and mindfulness of the breath, Kimberly is HONORED and PRIVILEGED to share in the trans-formative, fun, and unique experience that is Goat Yoga Texas!
Kimberly is a graduate from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a focus on Public Relations and Advertising.
She embarked on her Yoga journey in 2007 when a knee injury sidelined her collegiate volleyball career. After her first introduction to Yoga through a friend, she began a regular practice and instantly recognized the benefit to not only her knee, but her entire physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
In 2012, Kimberly earned her Yoga Teaching Certification From Lex Gillan's the Yoga Institute in Houston, Texas. She holds membership with The Yoga Alliance and National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers.
Shortly after getting married in 2013, she moved to Magnolia, Texas on piece of unrestricted property to pursue a dream of sustainability (or at least her own backyard eggs!). First it was chickens, and a breeding pair of milk goats arrived soon after.
Fast forward to January 2017, and Kimberly started getting messages from her friends about “Goat Yoga!" “You’ve got to do this!” “You’re a Yoga teacher with goats! No brainer!” “This looks like SO much fun! Have you tried this before?”
After a brief investigation, in true Yogi-on-a-journey form, Kimberly turned up her nose and dismissed the idea of adding barnyard animals to Yoga practice, because “that’s not Yoga.” It wasn’t until six months later in August 2017 when Goat Yoga was, once again, thrust into her life that she gave it a second look.
In September of that year she taught her first class with a small group of goats rescued after Hurricane Harvey. The looks on people’s faces, the calm that settles in, the joyful laughter, and even some tears wiped away all of her preconceived ides surrounding Goat Yoga. Here were mostly first-time Yogis experiencing joy and even personal healing on the Yoga Mat - pure emotional releases and tensions letting go after years of binding and holding on! She knew she had been wrong about Goat Yoga and set out to create Goat Yoga Texas, a space in Northwest Houston where people could come to rest their burdens on the mat, experience the life changing power of Yoga, and cuddle on her happy therapy goats.
